MEP expertise for a stunning triumph of architectural design
Spanning 84,300 square meters the Opus was designed as two separate towers that coalesce into a singular whole – taking the form of a cube. The cube has been eroded in its centre, creating a free-form void that is an important volume of the design in its own right. The two halves of the building in either side of the void are linked by a four storey atrium at ground level and also connected by an asymmetric 38 meter wide, three storey bridge 71 meters above the ground.
The design of the opus made use of the ready availability of sunlight to provide solar hot water heating for the building, and intelligent use of the local district cooling system enabled energy required for cooling to be cut by 10-15%.
SESC were contracted as commissioning consultants on the project to assess the MEP services and ensure the performance was inline with the sustainability targets of Omnyat. Our team was responsible for the management of the subsequent commissioning and final report designed to allow the operator easy comparison and tracking of all sustainability targets.
