SESC were engaged on the Facebook HQ project as commissioning consultants and engineers. Our teams performed the commissioning surveys, design reviews and final HVAC and Electrical testing.
The 20,000-square-foot space features an open office concept, and showcases regional cultural inspirations through the various designs and artistic cues.
Since launching a local presence in the region in 2012, Facebook said in a statement that it has grown to 164 million monthly active people.
With over 60 employees, mostly from the Arab region, Facebook’s office in Dubai acts as a hub, building local communities and bringing the world closer together, it added.
The office features commissioned pieces from Emirati artist Eman Al Hashemi, making her the first artist from the Arab world to join Facebook’s Global Artist in Residence program. The regional flavor is also evident in the meeting rooms, which have names such as, ‘Three Men and a Habibi’, ‘Shawarma’,‘Yalla Habibi’, and ‘Gone with the Sandstorm’.
Designed by INC Group and JLL MENA, the office features an open plan, a mother’s room, an interfaith room, a majlis, with recreational and quiet rooms. The office also features a private terrace an extensive gaming section. The office also features a private terrace with views of the iconic Palm Jumeirah while employees have access to a gaming section and an Instagram anti-gravity room.
